The latest guest on the programme "Daudz laimes, jubilār!" ("Happy Birthday, Celebrant!") is Lolita Vambute, a composer and singer whom the programme's makers describe as a Latvian national treasure. She represents the beginnings of Latvian light music, also known as pop or estrada music. Her path in music began with teaching herself to play the piano and developed into carefully thought-out pop performances.

Vambute is the first woman in Latvia to compose pop songs, and she has also performed her own songs herself. The programme describes her as an artist with an unmistakable elegance and grace.

She shares more than a place in Latvian light music with composer Raimonds Pauls, often called the Maestro: the two were born in the same year. The programme is devoted to the celebrant's musical journey.
