Song Festival Grand Concert in Grand Rapids Greets US 250th Anniversary
The closing concert of the 16th Latvian Song and Dance Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan, featured a special greeting for the 250th anniversary of the United States, bringing together about 400 singers from four countries.

The 16th Latvian Song and Dance Festival concluded with a grand concert in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event stood out with a special tribute – it marked the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The concert featured a joint choir of approximately 400 singers from the USA, Latvia, Brazil, and Canada. The repertoire included works by diaspora composers as well as well-known song festival compositions.
This event demonstrates the strength of the Latvian diaspora and the continuation of traditions outside Latvia, while also honoring the significant anniversary of the host country.
