Traffic to be closed at Dzirnavu and Skolas intersection in Riga

The Riga municipality has announced that due to renovation works on Dzirnavu Street, vehicle traffic will be completely closed at the intersection of Dzirnavu and Skolas streets. Pedestrians will have restricted movement and will be directed along temporary routes.

Changes in traffic organization

The section of Dzirnavu Street near the intersection will be closed in both directions, diverting traffic to surrounding streets. To accommodate the closure, two-way traffic will be introduced on several adjacent street sections. Specifically, two-way traffic will be implemented on Skolas Street from Dzirnavu to Elizabetes Street and from Lāčplēša to Dzirnavu Street, as well as on Dzirnavu Street from Skolas to Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street.

Advice for residents

As the works are carried out in Riga's historical center, which experiences heavy daily traffic, residents are advised to plan their routes in advance and choose alternative roads. The intersection improvement is part of the Dzirnavu Street renovation project.
