Tonight, the World Cup final will determine whether Argentina, the current champion from South America, will retain the trophy for another four years, or if Spain, the European champion, will reclaim it after 16 years.

Football fans fondly remember the famous octopus Paul from the Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany. Paul shot to fame during the 2010 World Cup by correctly predicting the winners of all seven German matches and the final. His method was simple: two boxes with treats, each decorated with the flag of one team. The flag of the box he chose was considered his prediction. Out of 14 matches, Paul correctly predicted 12, becoming a global sensation, though some angry fans wanted him cooked after their teams lost.

Paul died naturally on October 26, 2010, but his legacy lives on. In subsequent World Cups, many animals have become social media stars by making similar predictions. This tournament is no exception. As fans anxiously await the final, animals around the world are sharing their picks for Argentina or Spain. Social media is buzzing with their forecasts, adding a lighthearted twist to the highly anticipated match.
