E-foil boards let water sports enthusiasts 'fly' above the River Seine
In Paris, water sports fans are using e-foil boards on the Seine, which lift above the water once they gain speed, creating a sensation of flight.
Parisians are defying gravity on the Seine thanks to the e-foil, an electric board equipped with a propeller. As the board gains speed, it rises out of the water, giving riders the feeling that they are flying just above the river's surface.
The e-foil technology combines a hydrofoil with an electric motor. The rider stands on a board fitted with an underwater wing and a propeller. When the board accelerates, the wing generates lift, raising the entire board above the water, leaving only a small wake.
This activity has become a new attraction along the banks of the Seine, drawing both seasoned water sports enthusiasts and curious beginners. E-foil boards are relatively quiet and environmentally friendly, as they run on electricity rather than fossil fuels.
Though not yet as widespread as traditional water sports, the e-foil offers a unique experience—the sensation of gliding through the air just above the river.
