E-health System Resumes Operation After Fiber Optic Cable Damage
On Friday, June 26, the e-health system experienced disruptions for several hours due to damage to SIA "Tet" fiber optic cables during construction. The system was restored using a temporary solution before the cables were repaired.

The e-health system has fully resumed operations on Friday, June 26, after several hours of disruptions that affected the issuance of e-prescriptions, e-referrals, and the purchase of prescription medications at pharmacies. This was announced by Zane Gorškova, a representative of the Latvian Digital Health Center (LDVC).
The disruptions were caused by damage to SIA "Tet" fiber optic cables during construction near the Mūkusalas roundabout. Two main fiber optic cables were damaged, impacting the continuity of the e-health system. While "Tet" was performing cable restoration work, a temporary solution was applied to the system's operation by redirecting data exchange through other channels. This allowed the e-health system to be restored before the fiber optic cable damage was fully repaired.
According to information provided by "Tet", the repair of the damaged fiber optic cables was completed on Friday at 10 p.m. As a result, the e-health system is now fully functional for all services.
