Euroleague: Kaunas' Žalgiris Win in Bologna, Tel Aviv's Hapoel Score 118
In round eight of the Euroleague, Europe's top club basketball competition, Kaunas' Žalgiris won away at Virtus Bologna. Tel Aviv's Hapoel beat Istanbul's Anadolu Efes 118-88.
Lithuania's Žalgiris Kaunas won on the road against Italy's Virtus Bologna in round eight of the Euroleague, Europe's leading club basketball league. Games were also played on 28 October elsewhere, and the results reshaped the standings, where Žalgiris sit tenth after eight games with four wins and four losses.

Sterling Brown led Žalgiris with 14 points, followed by Dustin Sleva with 13. Marius Grigonis scored 12 and added four assists, while Azuolas Tubelis grabbed 11 rebounds and scored nine points. For Virtus, Derick Alston top-scored with 18 and Trent Frazier added 14.

Piraeus-based Olympiacos, missing four key players – Nikola Milutinov, Tyler Dorsey, Joan Montero and Evan Fournier – won 81-73 at Istanbul's Besiktas. The hosts went ahead 67-66 after a basket by Jaylen Nowell, but the visitors answered with a run to lead 78-68. Sasha Vezenkov scored 16, Tyrique Jones 15 and Donta Hall 14; Nowell was the best scorer for the Turkish side with 15.
Tel Aviv's Hapoel beat Istanbul's Anadolu Efes 118-88 in Botevgrad. The Israeli club scored 36 points in the second quarter and led 63-41 at halftime. Antonio Blakeney made eight three-pointers and scored 35, Dan Oturu added 20, and Elijah Bryant had 16 points, 12 assists and four steals. It was Hapoel's fourth straight win and their sixth in eight Euroleague games.
France's ASVEL Villeurbanne beat Belgrade's Partizan 82-75 at home. Petit Mills and Tremont Waters each scored 14, with Waters also providing seven assists. Kevarrius Hayes had 15 points and eight rebounds for the visitors.
Athens' Panathinaikos lead the table with seven wins in eight games.
