A severe heatwave continues to affect Europe, breaking temperature records in multiple countries. Germany provisionally recorded its highest temperature ever at 41.3°C in Saarbrücken, near the French border, which has experienced record highs for three consecutive days this week.

As the heatwave peaks in France, the country's health minister expressed concern over the rising number of people dying at home. The deadly heatwave is slowly moving north and east. In Belgium, meteorologist David Dehenauw unofficially reported 40°C in Kleine Brogel, near the Dutch border. The southern province of Limburg in the Netherlands recorded 39.4°C.

The United Kingdom saw a provisional June record of 37.1°C in Cavendish. According to AFP calculations, at least 150 million people across Europe faced temperatures above 35°C on Friday. Czech meteorologists believe Saturday could break the national record of 40.4°C set in 2012. Austria also forecasts record-high temperatures.

Balkan countries are experiencing extreme heat, with Serbia expecting up to 39°C over the weekend.
