Director Andrejs Ēķis and content creator Niklāvs Mičulis, in cooperation with the LMT group, have created a new short-form vertical series titled «Latvijas start-up leģenda. Minox» («Latvia's Start-up Legend. Minox»).

The series is based on real historical events and made in an absurdist style. It centers on inventor Valters Caps, who lived from 1905 to 2003 and became known as the creator of the world-famous miniature «VEF Minox» camera.

An idea that seemed impossible

According to the creators, the series shows how Caps' initially seemingly unrealistic idea eventually turned into a major invention that later gained worldwide recognition. The compact «VEF Minox» camera is historically regarded as one of the most notable technical achievements created in Latvia during the 20th century.

The project was made in a vertical, short-form format typical of modern digital video consumption, aiming to make the story of a historical invention accessible to a wider audience, including younger viewers.
