Exam results cause portal slowdowns; enrollment for secondary schools starts tomorrow

On Monday morning, June 26, portals 'Latvija.lv' and 'eksameni.gov.lv' slowed down due to high traffic after the release of basic education exam certificates. Meanwhile, electronic enrollment for Riga's 10th grade classes will begin on Saturday, June 27.

Starting from 9:00 AM on June 26, parents and students were able to access the 2025/2026 academic year basic education centralized exam certificates. The simultaneous login of many users led to slow performance on the portals 'Latvija.lv' and 'eksameni.gov.lv', resulting in longer waiting times. The Ministry of Education and Science (IZM) acknowledged technical challenges on the 'eksameni.gov.lv' portal in the morning. However, the ministry assured that all interested parties can obtain their certificates today.

Certificates are available to students on 'eksameni.gov.lv', while adult students and parents of minors can also access them via 'latvija.lv'. Educational institutions can retrieve certificates by logging into the State Examination Information System. The IZM continues to work on improving system functionality.

On June 27, electronic enrollment for Riga's secondary school 10th grade classes will commence via the 'Latvija.lv' service 'Application for Admission to Educational Institutions'. The enrollment period will last at least five calendar days. Applicants must submit separate applications for each chosen school and list the educational programs in priority order. The ministry emphasized that parents need not rush—submitting an application within the deadline, regardless of the exact time, does not affect the chances of securing a place at the desired school.
