Experts Highlight Common Mistakes in Cucumber Cultivation

Cucumbers are among the most popular vegetables in Latvian gardens, but a bountiful harvest is not guaranteed. Two gardening specialists point out that problems often arise not only due to weather conditions but also from incorrect care. Karīna Deņisova, owner of "Sīpoli" garden center in Saldus municipality, emphasizes that success depends on proper variety selection, regular maintenance, and timely pest and disease control. Meanwhile, Kristaps Kunderts from "Rasu Dārzniecība" in Ogre municipality adds that one of the most common mistakes is improper watering. He even produced a short video explaining why some gardeners fail to see a good yield. Deņisova grows cucumbers for sale, while Kunderts primarily cultivates seedlings and grows fruit only for personal use. Both experts are willing to share their knowledge to help amateur gardeners avoid frequent errors.
