Former US diplomat Henry Ensher has stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that the agreement reached between the United States and Iran to end the war should not be considered a final settlement. He emphasized that it is only the beginning of a process, and many things can still go wrong.

Ensher, who previously worked on Middle East issues, noted that both sides face several challenges that could undermine the durability of the agreement. He did not specify what exactly these risks might be, but pointed out that the process is fragile.

The agreement, concluded after lengthy negotiations, envisions a gradual de-escalation of the conflict. However, the expert warns that without robust monitoring mechanisms and mutual trust, the deal could collapse.

Analysts say Ensher's comments reflect the cautious optimism prevailing in international circles. While some see this as a significant step forward, others fear that yet another agreement may prove short-lived.

It is not yet known when the next round of talks might take place or what specific steps both parties need to take. Ensher's warning serves as a reminder that diplomacy is a long process requiring patience and compromise.
