Expert: 'We will never eliminate the risk of fire completely' as wildfire rages south of Paris
A wildfire south of Paris has scorched about 1,200 hectares; an expert says complete risk elimination is impossible.

On Monday, July 13, a large wildfire broke out south of Paris, burning approximately 1,200 hectares of forest. Throughout the day, aircraft and ground firefighters worked to contain the flames.
Expert opinion
Stefan Doerr, Director of the Centre for Wildfire Research at Swansea University, told France 24 that while the environment must be better prepared to reduce fire risk, it will never be eliminated completely. He stressed that total elimination of risk is not achievable.
