Seasonal worker dies in accident at LATRAPS facility in Eleja
A seasonal worker of Latvian agricultural company LATRAPS died on August 25 in Eleja, with authorities now investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.

A tragic accident occurred in Eleja on August 25, claiming the life of a seasonal worker employed by the Latvian agricultural company LATRAPS. Responsible authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
The company itself announced the tragedy on its Facebook page. According to the statement, the grain primary processing complex in Eleja was closed on the day of the incident so that emergency and investigative services could carry out their work without disruption. LATRAPS also confirmed it has provided all necessary information to investigators.
The company expressed its deepest condolences to the deceased worker's family, relatives and colleagues. LATRAPS board chairman Roberts Strīpnieks described the incident as a tragedy that should never have happened, pledging that the company would do everything possible to help clarify the circumstances and to support the family of the deceased.
