Exchange electricity price jumped to 4.4 cents per kWh last week
Between August 10 and 16, the average electricity price in Estonia's Nord Pool price zone nearly doubled to 4.38 cents per kilowatt-hour, while Latvia and Lithuania saw even higher prices.

According to Nord Pool exchange data, the average electricity price in Estonia's price zone reached 4.38 cents per kilowatt-hour during the week of August 10-16. This marks a sharp increase compared to the previous week, when the average price stood at 2.36 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Prices across the Baltics and Finland
In Latvia and Lithuania, which share a common price zone, the average exchange electricity price last week reached around 6.74 cents per kilowatt-hour — higher than in Estonia. Meanwhile, electricity was notably cheaper in Finland's price zone, averaging 2.89 cents per kilowatt-hour.
What the exchange price does not include
It should be noted that these exchange prices do not represent the final amount paid by households and businesses. The final bill also includes value-added tax as well as various network fees and excise duties, which further increase the price for end consumers.
