Power outages persist – 2400 customers still without electricity
On Sunday evening, power supply remains disrupted for approximately 2400 customers of AS "Sadales tīkls" in eastern Latvia. Initially, the number of affected households was higher – 9300 in the Rēzekne, Preiļi, and Ludza regions.

As of Sunday evening, July 12, 2026, electricity supply in eastern Latvia is still interrupted for about 2400 customers of AS "Sadales tīkls", according to information provided by the company to LETA news agency.
Specialists continue working to restore power as soon as possible. It should be noted that initially the outages affected as many as 9300 customers in the Rēzekne, Preiļi, and Ludza regions.
The State Fire and Rescue Service has received at least 56 reports of trees fallen onto roadways. Most of these reports came from Rēzekne municipality and the city of Rēzekne.
Weather forecasters have issued a warning valid until 11:30 PM on Sunday, predicting thunderstorms with heavy downpours and strong gusts of wind in parts of the southeastern region.
