AS "Pasažieru vilciens", operating under the brand "Vivi", has announced the naming of another four electric trains. This time, the trains have been named "Paparde" (Fern), "Ozols" (Oak), "Spāre" (Dragonfly), and "Stirna" (Roe Deer). This is the third phase of the naming process.

Earlier, in May, four trains were named "Zalktis" (Grass Snake), "Bērzs" (Birch), "Mednis" (Capercaillie), and "Ērglis" (Eagle). In April, the names "Bite" (Bee), "Apodziņš" (Little Owl), "Priede" (Pine), and "Egle" (Spruce) were given. The plan is to name all 32 electric passenger trains, with four new names being assigned each month.

The names were selected by experts from AS "Latvijas valsts meži" (Latvia's State Forests), choosing terms characteristic of Latvian trees, birds, animals, and natural products that reflect the diversity and richness of Latvian nature. In cooperation with LVM, route maps have been placed in the trains indicating LVM recreation areas near the stops.

The electric trains were manufactured by the Czech company "Škoda Vagonka" and began operations in late 2023. Last year, PV carried 21.3 million passengers, a 10% increase compared to 2024. The company was established in 2001, separating domestic passenger services from the functions of VAS "Latvijas dzelzceļš".
