Musician Elīna Fūrmane shares heartfelt post about missing brother in Nepal
Latvian musician Elīna Fūrmane has shared an emotional social media post about her brother Raimonds, who along with his wife Agnese is among the Latvians missing in Nepal. No new information about the missing group has emerged.

Following devastating mudslides in Nepal that have killed more than a thousand people and left thousands more awaiting word on missing relatives, Latvia too remains in a state of uncertainty. No fresh updates have been received about the group of Latvian nationals reported missing in the country.
Among those unaccounted for is Raimonds, the brother of Latvian musician Elīna Fūrmane, who traveled to the mountains together with his wife Agnese. Despite the lack of news, Fūrmane has not given up hope and has chosen to share warm memories of her brother publicly.
Wishes carried up the mountain
In a series of posts on Instagram, the musician revealed that before Raimonds and Agnese set off for Mount Kailash, he had asked his family members to name their wishes, which he planned to carry with him up the mountain so they might come true. Fūrmane wrote that had she known what would happen, her own wish would have been different — simply for her brother and Agnese to return home safe and sound.
Memories of a close bond
In her post, the musician also recalled other moments from her life with her brother, who is ten years her senior. She noted that it was Raimonds who once walked her to school by the hand when she started first grade. Fūrmane added that her brother and Agnese had been inseparable since the day they met, describing them as soulmates.
Both the family and the wider public continue to wait for news about the missing group of Latvians in Nepal.
