In an Instagram post, he shared a cheerful photo of himself seated at an outdoor meal, raising a glass of his own non-alcoholic sparkling wine. The musician wrote that he was toasting life and felt grateful for every day.
The milestone was accompanied by his hit “I’m Still Standing”, widely seen as an anthem of resilience. The occasion also drew renewed attention to his alcohol-free sparkling wine “Elton John Zero Blanc de Blancs”, which he launched earlier this year with his husband David Furnish.
Elton has previously explained that the brand came from a simple idea: to let everyone take part in celebrations and enjoy special moments together. He said the zero-alcohol Blanc de Blancs keeps the elegance, sparkle and joy of a traditional sparkling wine, offering a way to raise a glass without alcohol.
The singer stopped drinking in 1990 and has remained strictly sober ever since. Archive photos show him enjoying alcoholic drinks in 1976. Today, his journey continues to inspire millions around the world.
