Emīls Vasermanis wins bronze in European Cup shooting event
Latvian shooter Emīls Vasermanis won a bronze medal at a European Cup shooting event with 580 points. In the team competition, Latvia placed fourth.

Latvian shooter Emīls Vasermanis won a bronze medal at a European Cup stage in the large-caliber sport pistol event. The discipline consists of 30 shots at a target with a black center and 30 rapid-fire shots. Vasermanis scored 293 points in the first part and 287 in the rapid-fire round, for a total of 580 points. This earned him third place, just three points behind the winner, Ruslan Lunyev of Azerbaijan.
Ernests Erbs finished fifth with 578 points, missing the bronze by only two points. Daniels Vilciņš placed 20th with 541 points.
In the team competition, the Latvian team composed of Vasermanis, Erbs, and Vilciņš accumulated 1699 points for fourth place. France won with 1723 points, followed by Estonia's first team (1720) and Finland (1709).
