Andy Burnham becomes first acting Prime Minister to complete Great North Run
Acting UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has completed the Great North Run, becoming the first person in that role to do so. Speaking after finishing, he said he had loved the experience.
BBC Sport has released video footage of Andy Burnham speaking shortly after completing the Great North Run. The event is one of the largest and best-known half marathons in the world, held annually in the north-east of England.
In an interview immediately after crossing the finish line, Burnham said he had loved the run, telling BBC Sport: "I loved it." With this achievement, he became the first person to complete the Great North Run while serving as acting Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The Great North Run traditionally draws a large number of participants, ranging from elite professional runners to amateur athletes, including many taking part for charitable causes.
