Energija avenges early-season rout with 5:2 win over Prizma/RTU
Lithuanian club Energija defeated Riga-based Prizma/RTU 5:2 in the Latvian-Lithuanian hockey league (OHL), avenging a 1:9 defeat suffered in their first meeting of the season.
The Latvian-Lithuanian Open Hockey League (OHL) saw a rematch on Saturday between Energija and Prizma/RTU, two teams that had already faced each other earlier this season, when the Riga side crushed the Lithuanians 9:1. This time, the outcome was reversed.
Match summary
Energija took the lead midway through the first period, but Prizma/RTU equalized before the first intermission, sending the teams into the break level.
The second period belonged to the Lithuanian side, which extended its lead to two goals on two separate occasions. The Riga team managed to cut the deficit back to one goal before the second break, but Energija quickly restored a two-goal cushion early in the third period and kept Prizma/RTU from mounting any further comeback. The game finished 5:2 in Energija's favor.

The win is Energija's first of the season after a string of earlier defeats, lifting the Lithuanian club off the bottom of the league table. Prizma/RTU, meanwhile, suffered its fourth loss in six games this season, leaving the Riga club in the middle of the standings.
Several more OHL fixtures are scheduled for the same weekend among the league's other clubs, including Rīgas HS/Dinaburga, Panteri, Mogo/RSU and Liepājas HK, as teams continue jockeying for position in the table.
