Technology publication Engadget has released its annual roundup of the best-reviewed devices of 2026, selected from over 150 product reviews its staff plans to complete by year's end. Products scoring 90 or higher earn the outlet's Editors' Choice distinction, while other category leaders score in the high 80s.

Phones and computers

The Google Pixel 11 was named best Android phone, praised for its three-camera setup including a 5x telephoto lens and useful software features. The Apple iPhone 18 Pro took the best iPhone title, offering a variable aperture, pro camera controls and improved thermal management.

In the affordable laptop category, the Apple MacBook Neo won for delivering strong performance at a $600 starting price, even after a later $100 increase tied to an AI-driven RAM shortage. The MacBook Air with Apple's new M5 chip was named best macOS laptop, while the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo, featuring dual displays, took the best gaming laptop award. The Apple Mac mini with its M6 chip was crowned best desktop.

Displays, wearables and more

The Alienware 39 5K ultrawide OLED monitor won best display, and the Apple Watch Series 12, which introduced an overhauled health-sensing system with more frequent heart rate measurements, was named best wearable. The Valve Steam Controller, released roughly 13 years after the original with new control features, took the best gaming accessory title.

The Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar was named best home theater product, while the Sony A7R VI, equipped with a 67-megapixel sensor capable of shooting bursts at up to 30 frames per second, earned the best overall camera award.
