Erbs wins European Cup stage in shooting, Vasermanis also on the podium
Latvian shooter Erbs has won a European Cup stage in large-calibre sport pistol shooting, while his teammate Vasermanis also secured a podium finish.
Latvian sport shooter Erbs claimed victory at the latest European Cup stage in large-calibre sport pistol shooting, finishing with a total of 580 points — the best result of the competition.
Across the six scoring series, Erbs posted 97, 93, 95, 99, 98 and 98 points, giving him a clear lead over the rest of the field.
Tight battle for second place
The fight for second place was much closer. Both Latvia's Vasermanis and France's Jan Fridriči finished with 577 points each. Since their totals were tied, the deciding factor came down to accuracy — the Frenchman had more hits in the ten-ring, earning him second place, while Vasermanis took third.
Vasermanis's series results were 95, 98, 97, 95, 96 and 96 points.

In large-calibre sport pistol shooting, athletes fire 30 shots at a black-circle target followed by 30 shots in rapid-fire mode.
