Estonian public broadcaster ERR is preparing to cover the upcoming presidential election extensively across all its channels — television, radio and online portals — through both preview programs and live broadcasts on voting days.

Ahead of the election, ERR conducted an interview with presidential candidate Ülle Madise. The interview aired on ETV on August 26, hosted by Andres Kuusk. On ETV+, an interview with Madise hosted by Tatjana Gasova will air on September 1 at 20:30, while Radio 4 will broadcast it on September 2 at 11:05. On Vikerraadio, Madise was interviewed by Arp Müller, with the recording available on the broadcaster's website and app.

The presidential election will also be the focus of the first episode of the new season of "Impulss" on September 1.

Live coverage on voting day

On September 2, and on subsequent days if needed, ERR's television, radio and portals will provide live coverage of the election proceedings. ETV and Vikerraadio will join a live broadcast from the Riigikogu at 11:50, with hosts Liisu Lass and Mirko Ojakivi, along with reporter Taavi Eilat, following the course of events and reactions. ETV2 will offer the live broadcast with Estonian sign language interpretation. The morning program "Terevisioon" will also air from the Riigikogu that same morning.

ETV+ will begin its live broadcast at 11:55, with host Julia Baliy in the studio and reporter Konstantin Sviridovsky on location. The evening program "Epitsentr" at 20:30 will also focus on the election. On Radio 4, a special program called "Podrobnosti" will air on Wednesday and Thursday, September 2 and 3, from 11:05 to 13:00.

All news, interviews and programs related to the presidential election published by the public broadcaster are collected in a dedicated section titled "Estonian Presidential Election" on the Rus.ERR portal. A week before the election, ERR.ee also launched a series of articles about previous presidential elections, in which key figures from past campaigns recall those events in light of the current race. ERR's council has already approved the rules for covering the 2026 Estonian presidential election on public broadcasting.
