ETV+ and Radio 4 launch autumn season with new shows and presidential election coverage
Estonia's Russian-language public broadcaster ETV+ and Radio 4 return from summer break in early September with returning shows, new series, and special coverage of the presidential election.
Estonia's public broadcaster's Russian-language television channel ETV+ and Radio 4 station resume their autumn programming in early September, bringing back popular in-house productions alongside several new series.
On ETV+, weekday mornings from 7:10 will feature the show "Kofe+" hosted by Elena Solomina and Andrei Titov. Evening news bulletins return, along with a lineup of authored weekday programs covering talk shows, weekly interviews, a reality project, investigative journalism, and debate formats. Saturdays bring a weekly roundup program focused on issues in Ida-Virumaa county, followed by a foreign policy analysis show.
Presidential election
To mark Estonia's presidential election, ETV+ will air an interview with presidential candidate Ülle Madise on September 1, with Radio 4 broadcasting it the following day. On September 2, ETV+ and the Rus.ERR portal will livestream the first round of voting in the Riigikogu, followed that evening by a special program analyzing the election's course and results. Radio 4 will also run additional analytical broadcasts on the election on September 2 and 3.
New seasons and premieres
Starting September 4, a nature and ecology program returns, opening with an episode on nuclear power plant safety in Finland and prospects for nuclear energy in Estonia. From September 5, a new season of a documentary series will profile notable Estonian figures in culture and sport, including figure skaters, an actress, a film director, a writer, and a chef.
The autumn schedule also includes several foreign film and series premieres: a Turkish historical drama, the third season of a Spanish drama series, a French-Italian biographical drama about educator Maria Montessori, and an Italian romantic comedy.
Radio 4 listeners can expect a new program series on media literacy and digital safety, alongside the return of several established shows covering legal issues, education, foreign policy, and health topics.
