The 30 October edition of Europe Today, the morning news programme of the European broadcaster Euronews, focused on a truce in Oleshky in Ukraine, new fines for demonstrators in Albania, the political situation in Israel and an Ebola outbreak in Africa. The programme's headline describes the Oleshky truce as a rare one that is holding.

Ukraine and Albania

Euronews correspondent Sasha Vakulina explained the humanitarian operation and civilian evacuation expected in Oleshky. She also shared her interview with Arseniy Yatsenyuk, a former prime minister of Ukraine.

Ardit Hoxha, Euronews correspondent in Tirana, reported on public reaction to the heavy fines for demonstrators in Albania. He also covered the flares and chaos in the Albanian parliament.

Middle East and Ebola

Dr Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, asked what Israel's political deadlock means for Palestinians and whether the two-state solution is dead. Mary Robinson, a former Irish president and member of The Elders, discussed why the world is not doing more as the Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo escalates. The Elders is a group of prominent former world leaders founded by Nelson Mandela.
