Eurostat: Latvia's annual inflation in June higher than EU and eurozone averages
According to Eurostat, Latvia's annual inflation stood at 3.3% in June, exceeding the EU average of 2.9% and the eurozone average of 2.8%.

The European statistical office Eurostat released data on Friday showing that Latvia's annual inflation in June was higher than the EU and eurozone averages. Latvia, along with Belgium, recorded an annual inflation rate of 3.3%.
Consumer prices increased year-on-year in all EU member states in June. The lowest inflation rates were observed in Sweden (1%), Czechia (1.1%), Denmark (1.8%), as well as Malta, France, and Estonia (all at 2%). The highest annual inflation was recorded in Romania (9.2%), Lithuania (5.4%), Bulgaria (5.2%), Croatia (4.2%), and Cyprus (4.1%).
The average annual inflation in the EU was 2.9%, while in the eurozone it stood at 2.8%. Compared to May, consumer prices in June fell by 0.1% in both the EU and the eurozone. In Latvia, monthly inflation remained unchanged, similar to Italy and Hungary. Monthly price increases were observed in 11 member states, with the highest in Malta (+1.1%), and the largest decline in the Netherlands (-0.9%). In Lithuania, prices rose by 0.5%, while in Estonia they fell by 0.4%.
Eurostat calculates inflation based on the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP).
