Eurostat: Producer prices in Latvia up 0.9% in May
Industrial producer prices in Latvia increased by 0.9% in May 2025 compared to May 2024, a lower rise than the EU and eurozone averages.

According to fresh data from the European Union's statistics office Eurostat, producer prices for industrial products sold on the domestic market in Latvia rose by 0.9% in May compared to the same month in 2025 – the same rate as in Malta. This increase is well below the EU average of 5.7% and the eurozone average of 5.9%.
Among all member states, the largest year-on-year increases were recorded in Bulgaria (+19.3%), Romania (+13.5%) and Lithuania (+12.3%). Estonia saw a 0.7% rise, while Luxembourg experienced a decline of 3.2%.
On a monthly basis (May vs. April), producer prices in Latvia climbed 1.4%, outpacing the EU and eurozone average of 0.2%. Prices rose in 17 EU countries, with the sharpest increases in Cyprus (+3.6%), Ireland (+2.8%) and the Netherlands (+1.9%). Estonia and Sweden both saw a 1.8% monthly rise. Declines were recorded in eight countries, led by Croatia (-2.1%) and Hungary (-1.3%). Prices remained unchanged in Denmark and Malta, while Lithuania recorded a 0.1% increase.
