Facebook officially launches standalone Creator Studio app with AI tools

Facebook announced on Wednesday that it is officially rolling out its standalone Creator Studio app to all eligible creators on iOS in the United States and Canada. The AI-powered app is designed to help creators grow their audiences and manage engagement with their communities, following a limited test period with select creators in prior weeks.

At the core of the app is an AI assistant that delivers personalized recommendations based on a creator's content style, past performance, audience engagement, and stated goals. Rather than digging through charts and dashboards, creators can simply ask the assistant questions such as when to post or what people are saying in their comments, and follow up with additional questions.

New comment management tools

Among the app's new features is an AI-powered comment tool that highlights the most important comments and drafts replies written in the creator's own tone. Creators retain control, as they can edit or approve suggested replies before they're posted. The app also presents a daily feed of priorities each time it's opened, covering recent post performance, progress toward goals, and comments awaiting a response.

Competing for creator attention

With Creator Studio, Meta appears focused on keeping creators engaged on Facebook as it competes against platforms like TikTok and YouTube for their time and attention. The move may also reflect an effort to reduce creators' reliance on third-party tools such as ChatGPT for generating content ideas and analyzing performance.

The app is the latest in a string of recent releases from Meta, which has introduced several standalone apps in recent months, including Forum, a Reddit-style app for Facebook Groups; Instants, a disappearing-photo sharing app for Instagram friends; Pocket, a gaming app; and StoryKit, an AI tool for generating children's stories.
