A two-week residency organized by the fashion project FashionTex has concluded with a large-scale show at the LED Unit virtual production studio. The project was first reported on by the Latvian Television programme Kultūras ziņas in early September, when the residency was just beginning.

The closing event brought together young fashion designers from 11 European universities. During the residency, participants worked in creative workshops on their own collections, which were presented at the final show in two formats — as physical garments and as digital outfits created in a virtual environment.

The LED Unit studio, which hosted the final presentation, specializes in virtual production technology that allows real and digital elements to be combined within the same space. This approach gives designers the opportunity to experiment with new formats in which fashion moves from the physical world into the digital realm.

The FashionTex project brought together students from several European countries, creating a platform for international collaboration and the exchange of experience in fashion and technology.
