Fedorov Ready to Return as Defence Minister '100%' If Asked

Former Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has declared his willingness to return to the Ministry of Defence if called upon by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, Fedorov responded with "100%" when asked whether he would accept the position of defence minister again. He emphasized that his motivation is not personal ambition but a sense of duty to the public that has voiced its support. 'There's no walking away from this situation,' Fedorov said, adding that he does not need any job but would only consider a role with real responsibilities, specifically the Ministry of Defence. He acknowledged the challenges ahead and stated he is fully prepared for them. If not offered the post, he said there are other ways to achieve his vision. The statement comes amid protests that began on 16 July in Kyiv and other cities demanding Fedorov's reinstatement. President Zelenskyy had previously acknowledged that Fedorov and former commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi were unable to work together, leaving unresolved issues on the battlefield, within brigades, and regarding mobilization. Following six days of protests, Zelenskyy dismissed Syrskyi and announced plans to appoint Mykhailo Drapatyi as the new commander-in-chief.
