“Bildes” Festival Concert at VEF Culture Palace to Pair Music Veterans with Young Talents
The music and art festival “Bildes” will hold its concert “For the First Time at Bildes” at the VEF Culture Palace in Riga on 30 October. Established Latvian musicians will perform a few songs together with young performers.

On Friday, 30 October, the VEF Culture Palace will host a concert of the music and art festival “Bildes”, titled “For the First Time at Bildes”. The format is built around well-known Latvian musicians joining, for a couple of songs, young and promising performers who are still little known or entirely unknown.
Who will perform
The planned line-up includes Arnis Veisbārdis with “Straume”, Raimonds Bartaševičs (“Pērkons”, “Menuets”) with “Pagrabnieki”, Laimis Rācenājs with “Parakosms”, and Guntars Mucenieks (“Līvi”) with “Frekvence”. Also on the bill are Horens Stalbe with “ROOM Colective”, Andris Freidenfelds, known as Fredis, with “Pusnakts brigāde”, Urbix (“Huskvarn”) with “De Speakable”, and Agris Semēvics with “Devīze”.
Special guests are actress, songwriter and singer Zane Dombrovska with the band “Kumosiņš”, and Juris Kaukulis, leader of “Dzelzs vilks”, who will perform with musicians from the band “Atkala”. Horens Stalbe will host the concert.
Veterans on the new generation
The experienced artists speak approvingly of their younger colleagues. Stalbe said he was surprised that the young musicians are so close to reggae, know the genre well and sound convincing and inspiring. Bartaševičs stressed that young people play live instruments rather than fiddling with gadgets. Normunds Štefenhāgens, known as Urbix, sees potential in this year's participants, saying that being young and free is very important for quality rock and roll.
The organisers describe the festival as a bridge between generations of musicians and invite audiences to attend the concert at the VEF Culture Palace.
