Fisher Wins on Points Over Bloodied Pirotton in Zuffa Boxing Debut

British heavyweight boxer Johnny Fisher, known as the "Romford Bull," defeated Belgian opponent Dylan Pirotton on points on Saturday at London's Copper Box Arena, marking his debut in the new Zuffa Boxing series. The 7,500-capacity venue was not sold out, with the upper tier closed, but Fisher's fan base, dubbed the "Bosh Army," provided loud support throughout the night.

Fisher started aggressively, damaging Pirotton's eye in the opening round and cutting it by the second. The lesser-known Belgian fighter remained composed despite the pressure and the crowd, telling the referee he could still see and asking for the fight to continue. A doctor examined him in the fourth round but allowed the bout to go on. Pirotton's shorts were stained with blood, yet he had his best round in the fifth as Fisher appeared to tire. The doctor checked Pirotton again before the seventh round, and the fight continued. In the tenth round, a right hand from Fisher shook Pirotton, but Fisher could not land a finishing blow, and the contest went the distance, with Fisher winning on points. It was Pirotton's third loss in 15 professional fights.

Among the spectators were fellow British boxers as well as WWE stars, since Zuffa Boxing is run by the same company that owns WWE.

The Copper Box Arena has been the scene of contrasting results for Fisher before: he stopped Alen Babic in just 36 seconds there in July 2024, but ten months later suffered a five-round stoppage loss to Dave Allen at the same venue. Fisher has repeatedly said he wants to be recognized as a serious contender rather than simply a popular ticket-seller with a memorable nickname. Current British heavyweight champion Richard Riakporhe has already offered him a title shot. Former world champion Deontay Wilder has also been mentioned as a possible future opponent, but Fisher said a fight with Dillian Whyte looks like the more realistic option for his next bout.
