Latvian club FK Liepaja hosted Montenegrin team Dečić from Tuzi on Thursday evening in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round. The match proved challenging for the home side, as they were reduced to ten men early on.

In the 21st minute, a Liepaja player received a red card, forcing the team to play with a numerical disadvantage for the remainder of the match. Despite this setback, Liepaja managed to score a goal and hold on to a 1-0 lead until the final whistle.

The solitary goal was enough to give Liepaja a slim advantage ahead of the second leg, which will be played in Montenegro. The team will need to defend their lead to advance to the next round. The victory, achieved under difficult circumstances, highlights the resilience and determination of the Latvian side.
