Fleetwood to host Arsenal in EFL Cup fourth round
League Two club Fleetwood Town will host Premier League champions Arsenal in the Carabao Cup fourth round, after the full draw for the round was completed.
Fleetwood Town made history on Wednesday night, beating Sheffield United 1-0 to reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup for the first time in the club's history. Their reward is a high-profile home tie against reigning Premier League champions Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, who beat Ipswich Town 4-2 on Tuesday.
Defending trophy holders Manchester City will host Brighton at the Etihad Stadium, provided they beat Norwich in the last remaining third-round fixture on Thursday. Another notable pairing sees Chelsea drawn against Liverpool, meaning Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso will return to his former club as a visiting manager.
Two League One sides also secured fourth-round places: Bradford and Peterborough, who beat Leyton Orient and Barnsley respectively in the third round, and will now compete for a quarter-final spot.
The remaining ties are all-Premier League affairs: Fulham will host Crystal Palace, Bournemouth will play host to Aston Villa, Brentford travel to Sunderland, and Everton will welcome Newcastle United.
The fourth round is scheduled for the week starting 26 October.
