A Learjet 60 private plane crashed in Florida on Sunday, and all nine people aboard died. The crash happened about 13 kilometres from US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence.

A private Learjet 60 aircraft crashed in the US state of Florida on Sunday, 1 November, killing all nine people on board. The crash occurred in a populated area near Cresthaven in Palm Beach County, roughly 13 kilometres from US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence.
US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed that all nine people on the plane lost their lives. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the US agency that oversees civil aviation, told the outlet TMZ that the aircraft went down at about 12:50 p.m. local time.
Flight route and the moment of the crash
The plane was travelling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas. A witness driving a car filmed its final moments: the video shows the aircraft plunging steeply and slamming into the roadside, followed by a huge fireball. A smouldering crater engulfed in flames was left at the scene.
Impact on traffic
Palm Beach fire and rescue services said the road “Military Trail” was closed between “Cresthaven” and “10th Avenue N” because of the crash. Residents and drivers were urged to avoid the area, as rescue work and examination of the scene could take a long time.
The source does not state the cause of the crash or name the victims.
