Forza Horizon 6 to Launch on PS5 on January 26
The racing video game Forza Horizon 6 will arrive on PlayStation 5 on January 26, together with its first expansion. The game debuted on Xbox and PC in May.
Xbox-owned studio Playground Games has announced that its racing video game Forza Horizon 6 will launch on the PlayStation 5 console on January 26. The studio had originally said the PS5 version would come out this year, but the release has slipped by a few weeks. The source suggests this may be to keep some distance from Grand Theft Auto 6.
Editions and expansion
As on Xbox and PC, PS5 players will be offered a Premium Edition. It includes up to five days of early access, and players can upgrade to it from the standard version.
A trailer indicates that the game's first expansion will be released at the same time as the PS5 version. It is included with the Premium Edition, while other players can buy it separately.
Earlier release and the next game
Forza Horizon 6 first came out on Xbox and PC in May. The studio took the formula it refined in Forza Horizon 5 and moved it to a new setting in Japan.
The PS5 version will land roughly a month before the studio's next game, Fable, which arrives on Xbox Series X/S, PC and PS5 on February 23. However, Xbox's current leadership has signaled a shift in its exclusivity strategy, so Fable may be among the last Xbox games to reach PlayStation. Call of Duty and possibly StarCraft could be exceptions.
