Photo exhibition "Pēcstundas" invites reflection on childhood's emotional legacy

A new photo exhibition titled "Pēcstundas" ("After Class") has opened at the Ogre History and Art Museum, inviting visitors to consider how deeply experiences from childhood — relationships with parents and the school environment — continue to shape people once they reach adulthood.

A personal experience behind the exhibition

The exhibition grew out of the author's own memories. When Madara Rutkēviča was ten years old, family circumstances forced her to suddenly change schools. In the new environment, she felt lonely and out of place. These feelings became the emotional foundation for the photo exhibition.

The broader theme

The work prompts wider reflection on the kind of "emotional baggage" people carry forward from childhood and school years into later life. The exhibition offers visitors a chance to revisit their own past and consider how their school-age experiences shaped their personality and their relationships with the world around them.
