The Chelsea attack question

Chelsea forward Joao Pedro is the most-owned player in FPL, featured in 72.5% of squads. With Chelsea having already scored eight goals this season and facing newly promoted Hull City at home next, doubling up on their attacking assets looks increasingly attractive. Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers both came off the bench at half-time in Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie against Leeds United, with Palmer scoring twice, including a penalty, and Rogers providing three assists. Palmer is considered the stronger pick where affordable, given his greater goal threat and penalty-taking duties. Managers using their Wildcard this week could even consider a triple-up on Chelsea attackers, though this only pays off if the team consistently scores two or more goals per match.

Liverpool and other options

Liverpool's Cody Gakpo is the most-bought player heading into gameweek four, but he missed Wednesday's Champions League squad against Atletico Madrid with an adductor issue and is now a doubt for the home game against Fulham. Alexander Isak, meanwhile, has scored three goals over the last two gameweeks, though his high price makes him harder to fit into a squad. Gakpo's advantage is that he has assisted every one of his goals so far.

Other recommendations

Manchester United's Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes are described as long-term holds ahead of their side's clash with Manchester City, with the expert noting United's strong home record under caretaker boss Michael Carrick earlier this year. For Wildcard players, Arsenal's defence — including Ezri Konsa — is highlighted as a strong investment given the club's defensive record, alongside continued backing for Erling Haaland and Joao Pedro up front. For captaincy, Palmer or Haaland are named as the top picks.
