France is currently experiencing its third major heatwave since May, prompting residents to take various measures to cope with the extreme temperatures. Many are staying indoors, while others are flocking to canals and rivers to cool off. Some have even left their homes in search of cooler locations.
The town of Lodève recorded a high of 41.1°C, one of the highest temperatures during this heatwave. Nearly the entire country is under heat warnings, indicating widespread and prolonged heat.
Both locals and holidaymakers fear that the worst is yet to come, as forecasts suggest the heat could persist for several more days, raising concerns about health risks and potential wildfires.
