France and Germany claim wins at European volleyball championship, Latvia to face Germany on Friday

Both France and Germany secured their second wins in Group D of the European volleyball championship, currently being played in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Olympic champions France defeated Switzerland 3-0 (25:23, 31:29, 25:21). Theo Faure led France's scoring with 21 points, attacking at 56% efficiency from 36 attempts. For Switzerland, Lars Mueller scored 13 points, three of them from serves.

The top four teams from each group will advance to the round of 16, to be played in Turin and Sofia, while the medals will be decided in Milan.
