Sarah Rumeau and co-driver Julie Amblard crashed on Saturday in a round of the European Rally Championship in Portugal while running ninth. The driver says both are in good health and will return to the stages on Sunday.

A French women's crew had a bad Saturday at the Portugal round of the European Rally Championship (ERC). Driver Sarah Rumeau and co-driver Julie Amblard crashed their Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 on the seventh special stage, in a slow corner. Video of the accident has been published and shows the car rolling several times.
Ninth place before the crash
Before the accident, Rumeau and Amblard held ninth place in the Portugal rally. That was a strong position, and they were the fastest French women's crew in the event.
Recent success in France
The two athletes recently became the first women to win the French gravel rally championship title together. In Portugal they competed as the same pairing that has had success at home in recent times.
Health and what comes next
According to the driver, both crew members are fine after the crash. The pair are due to return to the stages on Sunday and continue in the rally.
