French middle-distance runner Clémerle to now represent Latvia
Berenice Clémerle, a 31-year-old middle-distance runner previously competing for France, will now represent Latvia in international competitions, the Latvian Athletics Union announced.

The Latvian Athletics Union (LVS) has announced that middle-distance runner Berenice Clémerle will from now on represent Latvia in international competitions.
The 31-year-old athlete had previously competed for France, but she has Latvian roots — her grandmother is Latvian. This heritage has been cited as the basis for her decision to switch sporting nationality and compete under the Latvian Athletics Union going forward.
The LVS has officially confirmed the change, though further details about the athlete's career plans or upcoming competitions have not yet been made public.
