207 combat clashes recorded on front over 24 hours, Ukraine's General Staff says
Ukraine's General Staff reported 207 combat clashes along the front since the start of August 28, with the heaviest fighting in the Pokrovsk direction. Russia also used hundreds of guided bombs and thousands of kamikaze drones.
Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff said in its evening report, compiled as of 22:00 Kyiv time, that 207 combat clashes had taken place along the front since the start of August 28.
According to the report, Russian forces carried out 54 air strikes over the day, dropping 203 guided aerial bombs. The enemy also deployed 5,315 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,106 shelling attacks against populated areas and Ukrainian troop positions.
Clashes by direction
The General Staff said Ukrainian defense forces repelled attacks across multiple sections of the front. One Russian attack was repelled in the North Sloboda direction, and eight in the South Sloboda direction. In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled one attack, while in the Lyman direction they repelled nine.
Five attacks each were repelled in the Sloviansk and Kramatorsk directions, and two in the Kostiantynivka direction. The most intense fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces repelled 31 attacks — the highest number recorded on any front section.
Three attacks were repelled in the Oleksandrivka direction, 13 in the Huliaipole direction, and four in the Orikhiv direction.
The report indicates that the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole areas remain among the most active combat zones along the entire front line, as Russian forces continue intensive assaults there.
