Fulham complete double deal for Real Madrid duo Garcia and Palacios

Fulham have completed the signings of Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid, with both players committing to five-year contracts.

Garcia, a 22-year-old forward, arrives for a reported fee of around £34m and will link up with new Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa, whom he previously worked with at Real Madrid. Garcia made 39 appearances for the Spanish club last season, scoring eight goals across all competitions. He earned his first senior Spain cap in June and was joint-top scorer at the Club World Cup last summer.

"I'm very grateful, very happy to be here. I have to thank the board and Arbeloa for the trust they've put in me, and I'm very, very excited to start," Garcia said.

Palacios, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, has also joined on a contract running until the summer of 2031. He made five senior appearances for Real Madrid, all as a substitute, and has represented Spain at under-20 level. Fulham hold an option to extend the agreements of both players by a further 12 months.
