Nine years of court proceedings, thousands of euros in losses, and a damaged reputation in the eyes of clients – these were the consequences of the State Police's decision to confiscate a printing company owner's work computers based on a single complaint. The court found that the law enforcement officers acted arbitrarily, holding the equipment for nearly a year.
The police had received a complaint about alleged illegal business activities. Although the complaint was not anonymous, the police failed to prove the allegations. Now the question arises whether the state will compensate for the stress, inconvenience, and lost profits.
