Lighting Designer Nik Ciprus: With Light You Can Create Magic
Lighting artist Nik Ciprus believes that light can create almost magical effects in large spaces, especially in theatre, where it becomes a language as expressive as music or scenography.

Light is one of the primary elements of the world, without which life itself is impossible. It not only allows us to see our surroundings but also helps us feel, emphasize, hide, and even tell stories. Especially in theatre, light becomes as expressive a language as music or scenography.
Lighting designer Nik Ciprus shared his views on Latvijas Radio's program "Monopols", stating that what fascinates him most about light is space. "Give me a large space - whether it's a big theatre stage, a church, or a hangar - and with light you can create almost magical things," he is convinced.
Ciprus emphasizes that light is a powerful tool that can transform any environment, adding mood and depth. In the context of theatre, light acts as an invisible director, guiding the audience's attention and creating the needed atmosphere.
