Gastroenterologist Danilans: a long life should also be a full one
Professor Anatolijs Danilans, a gastroenterologist, stresses that living long is not enough and that staying vigorous in old age matters too. He shared advice on maintaining good wellbeing as a senior.

A long life should not be the only goal. Living fully and staying vigorous in later years is at least as important, says gastroenterologist Professor Anatolijs Danilans. He spoke as part of the Health Seniors Club's discussion series “Healthy Senior – Safe, Active and Informed!”, which focuses on seniors' health, safety and awareness.
During the talk the doctor said he does not allow himself to feel unwell. His words, “I don't let myself feel bad!”, reflect the attitude he takes towards his own wellbeing in old age. Danilans also shared tips on how seniors can look after their wellbeing.
The headline of the original interview quotes the doctor describing his mood in lively terms: a walking staff in hand, a flower on his hat, a heart that is still young and plenty of spirit.
