Genesis GV90 NeoLun: an electric luxury SUV with heated floors and coach doors
Genesis has unveiled the GV90 NeoLun, an electric luxury SUV featuring unique wide-opening doors and a tech-laden cabin. The model is set to go on sale in early 2027.

Hyundai's luxury brand Genesis has introduced a new electric SUV called the GV90 NeoLun, whose name translates to "new moon." The vehicle's standout feature is a new type of coach door that opens wide for easy access to the cabin. To let the front and rear doors operate independently, Genesis developed what it calls a "dual-motion hinge": the rear door first slides slightly outward, then rotates open. For safety, the body structure integrates dual high-strength steel beams, and the cabin frame is 50 percent thicker than conventional vehicles, functioning as a concealed roll cage.
Platform and battery
The GV90 is built on Genesis' new eMP electric platform. Both the NeoLun, with its coach doors, and the standard GV90 come equipped with a 123.5 kWh battery pack — the largest ever fitted to a Hyundai Motor Group vehicle. On a single charge, the SUV can travel roughly 311 miles, while a 350kW fast charger can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 22 minutes. The dual-motor drivetrain produces 657 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle also features an adjustable air suspension system and active rear-wheel steering to help maneuver its 208.1-inch-long body.
Interior and technology
Inside, a 23.6-inch "Cinematic Display" expands to 24.6 inches when the vehicle is parked. Drivers get a 25-inch head-up display showing speed, navigation and driver-assistance information. Sound comes from a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen system that can recreate the acoustics of famous concert venues. The cabin also includes ambient lighting, massage seats, heated wood-veneer flooring, and a roof with adjustable opacity across six zones. The front seats can swivel to face rear passengers, and buyers can choose from natural wood, cashmere, leather and stone trim in five interior color combinations.
Genesis plans to put the GV90 models on sale in early 2027. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, though it's expected to start around $100,000.
